# API

> Pull your data from the Weave API

To pull your data from the Weave API, first you need to create an API key.

1. Visit the [settings page](https://app.workweave.ai/organization/settings)
2. Click the + button to create a new API key
3. Give the key a descriptive name
4. Copy the key - you won't be able to see it again, so make sure to store it in a safe place!
5. Use the key to pull the data you want from the Weave API.

See the [API reference](/api-reference) for endpoint details. [`GET /metrics`](/api-reference/metrics/get-metrics) includes DORA metrics when you have a CI/CD connection and production-classified workflows: `ci_deploy_frequency`, `ci_deploy_success_rate`, `ci_deploy_mttr`, and `pr_deploy_lead_time`. With an incident management connection (PagerDuty, incident.io, Rootly, or Datadog), it also returns `incident_volume`, `incident_mttr`, and `incident_mtta`, which can be grouped by `incident_severity`. With a project management integration, it returns `task_count`, `task_lead_time` (seconds), and `points_per_engineer`. AI spend metrics are available as `tool_costs_total` (US dollars, including subscription costs configured in Financial settings), `output_per_ai_dollar`, and `output_per_ai_token` (AI code output per million tokens). Code quality metrics include `pr_quality_score` (0–10) and `comment_resolution_rate` (0–1). It also supports `code_review_output` (reviewer effort in the same units as `code_output`) and `ai_skills` (0–10 composite score; distinct from [`GET /skill-usage`](/api-reference/skills/get-skill-usage)). For when account type, team membership, observer roles, and archiving affect metrics and billing, see [Member state and metric timing](/api-reference/member-state-timing).
