# Webhook

> Export your data to a webhook on a regular schedule

Webhook exports allow you to automatically receive your Weave data at a URL you specify. Data is sent daily via HTTP POST requests.

## Setting up webhooks

You can manage webhook exports through the [Webhooks API](/api-reference/webhooks/list-webhooks). To get started:

1. Create an [API key](/export/api) in your organization settings
2. Use the API to create a webhook export with your endpoint URL
3. Weave will POST data to your URL daily

## Export types

There are two types of webhook exports:

### Team export

Aggregated team metrics including:

* `output` - Total code output for the team
* `output_per_engineer` - Average code output per engineer
* Additional team-level metrics

### Raw export

Individual PR-level data including:

* `pull_request_id` - Unique identifier for the PR
* `author` - The PR author
* `merged_at` - When the PR was merged
* `output` - Code output for the PR

## Authentication

You can optionally configure a secret header for your webhook. When set, Weave will include this header in every request, allowing your endpoint to verify the request is from Weave.

```json theme={null}
{
  "name": "My Webhook",
  "type": "team",
  "webhook_url": "https://your-server.com/webhook",
  "webhook_secret_header": "X-Webhook-Secret",
  "webhook_secret_value": "your-secret-token"
}
```

## URL requirements

Webhook URLs must:

* Use `https://` or `http://` scheme
* Include a valid host
* Point to a publicly accessible endpoint (internal IPs and localhost are not allowed)
