How it works

PR merge time measures the time from when a pull request is opened to when it is merged. The metric reports the median value. By default, weekends are excluded from this time. To count every calendar day, turn on Hardcore mode under Settings → General → Time calculation.

Comparison with cycle time

PR cycle time starts from the first commit, while merge time starts when the PR is opened, so cycle time is usually at least as long as merge time. If merge time makes up most of cycle time, the delay happens after the PR is opened (for example, waiting for review). If cycle time is much longer than merge time, most of the time is spent before the PR is opened.
