How it works
Measures the time from when a task is marked “in progress” to completion. The clock starts when work begins, not when the ticket was created. If a task leaves in progress and later moves back into it, the clock restarts from the most recent move into in progress.
Reports the median value. By default, weekends are excluded from this time. To count every calendar day, turn on Hardcore mode under Settings → General → Time calculation.
Factors that increase lead time
- Tasks that should be broken down into smaller pieces
- Too much work in progress causing context switching
- Blockers not being surfaced or resolved
- Unclear requirements causing rework
